Hi again!

Hi again everybody! For weeks I´ve been on my way asking Ágúst if he could help me with this blog, which I somehow didn´t manage to enter anymore, and the WOLLA! I did it myself :o) So now I´ll try to blog more often.
It´s a good idea to become a "follower" so you´ll get new updates.

You have probably heard about the eruption here in Ice. It´s taking place in the south (we live in the North-East 6 hours driving away) and when we went south for Easter Break we could see the "steam" rising up fom the eruption place long ways because of the good weather. Then we flew over there in the morning sun withÁgúst´s father who has a little airplane. That was an amazing trip, beautiful harmony of ice oand fire, steam and sunsrise. The eruption is taking place on a glacier, no homes are in danger unless the eruption decides to move or if there opens a new crack closer to the main glacier. Lot of people have been going there to watch the eruption, flying in helicpters, plains, driving on jeeps and walking on the mountain. Tuesday 2 icelandic people died when they got lost on the mountain. The 3rd person survived. The weather up there can chance very quicly, you arrive in a great, great weather and 30 minutes later you have a blizzard. It´s also vey cold up there. There have been so many people visiting the eruption place that they say sometimes it´s like a clearensday in a mall :o)

I´ll post pics soon from the eruption but here is Guðbergur Davíð playing in the snow. Behind him is the house of our next door friends.

I´m postin these ones for my little friends, the kiddos of Lynette Sawicky who wanted long ago to see our guinea pigs. So here is one of the babies from the second birth living in my swimmingbag! He prefared that hen the purple home :o)

And here he is again, so cute!

Here´s the father, Jón (John) playing the piano. Margét owns him.

Lots of stuff going on!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I miss this day so much from our stay in the US. We had so much fun at Tom´s and Gail´s farm as well our first Thanksgiving day we had at Marcus Haug´s house.
We´ll don´t have any turkey here today like we did last year. You know that we don´t celebrate this day here in Iceland, but I and Ágúst really are into it! This year we simply don´t have the time to have everyone over for a turkey like we would have love to do.

Lots of things have happened last weeks.
Sigurjón Óli almos lost a chunk of his little finger. It´s growing well and it seems like the finger will be almost normal again.
I was driving home from the town 2 days ago in snow and dark and suddenly the car flew out of the road! The boys where with me in the car as well as the 12 years old daughter of our good neighbors. No one got hurt, thank the Lord! but we´re still shocked. We needed to rent a big truck to tow the car to the road again. I´m glad the car didn´t flip over!!!!!

It´s winter here in the North East already......or at least today and the day I had the car accident. The snow comes and goes. Saturday we´re gonna decorate everything. My fall decorations look like pretty out of season when the snow is glittering outside :o)
Can´t wait for the advent, we wait for Dec.24th for Christmas to arrive.......love it!!!!!

Ágúst is going to Switzerland next week for a week. He´ll attend a Christian Leadership conference along with some other icelandic leaders. Pray for him to come home rested and energized!!!! Sigurjón Óli will go with him to the south to stay with gandmas and grandpas while Ágúst is in Swiss and life will be easier for me as we have our sweet friends babysit MM and GD while I´m working.

I have a Christmas request..........I desperately need Christmas M&M, both regular and the peanut one, just to get a little bit of America in my house. You could mark it as a gift when you send it and I´d send you Icelandic candy instead as a Thank you!!!!!!!!
Love you all!!!!!!

Sickness

We are still sick here. Ágúst is worse now then yesterday with higher fever, back pain and headake(?). Margrét is better, never got really sick and is going to school on Monday after 1 1/2 week at home. Sigurjón Óli went yesterday to a lumonia test............I never remember how to write this word so I just write it as I hear it!, and he has not this word thing sickness but needs his oh boy how can I describe that?............uuuuuhh.......this thing that you breath in to make your lungs feel better. Hopefully someone is getting a good laugh out of this:o) There has never been as much sickness around in the schools here before as now. 3 kids from SÓ´s Preschool went for a test and the all have the piglet siglet sciglet riglet flue :o( so it´s likely that SÓ has it too as well as Ágúst. Guðbergur Davíð has started to cough like MM and SÓ but no fever. I took 1 day being kinda sick but otherwise I´m fresh like an apple :o) YYYYYYHHHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Pray for this to be over, our budget does not need Ágúst to be sick anymore!!!!
HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sickness

Yes, the flue has entered our lifes here in the "middle of nowhere". Ágúst, Margrét and Sigurjón Óli are all sick. I´m fine, need to take care of the others. They are not too sick though but kinda lazy, not going to school or work, delaing with headeck(?) (Kristi help!) fever´n stuff.

We had a great time in the US. Even if the reason for the trip was a sad thing it was very good to be at the funeral, meet Don´s children and our dear Margret, his wife.
The kids are so happy about the stuff I brought them. It was great to feel that even if it´s over a year we where there last time the friendship has become deeper with so many of our friends. It is thrilling to have all these good friends there and my dear Anna Lísa frænka who is not only my precious friend but cousin too. It was so strange though suddenly to be there.........which has been in my dreams for a year. I felt strongly though that I don´t wanna life in the US, like I have been wanting to on and off last winter, but would love to be able to be there once a year or at least every other year. It was good to feel that we have a life now here in Iceland and a home to come back to. When we lived in the US we where only "moving back home" but our "life" was still in the US. It´s also fun and kinda strange to jump into an previous life, like we had never left. Can´t explain it. But now I gotta get goin........preparing the flute classes for today. Smoooch to everyone!

Coming to Minnesota!

Yes, we´re coming to MN this coming Wednesday for a funeral. Our dear friend Don Messerer passed away last week and we want to be at his funeral. He lived across the hall, where we lived, and he and his wife Margrete where like our grandparents. We love them dearly!
We look forward to meet all of our friends and to stay in the aptm building where we lived. We feel like we´re coming home :o) It´s warmer in MN now then here in ICE so it will be great to have a little longer summer by coming to MN. I look forward to meet my MOP´s friends and to go to Mother´s Fellowship! Just wanted to let you know.
